Clients for LEARN Coaching Exam

We are regularly looking for individuals to be coached/serve as focus persons when students at LEARN Coaching take their exams. These students have completed 146 hours of coach training over a period of 9 months to 2 years.

This fall, we have several candidates taking their exams in Norwegian on Monday, August 25 and Friday, September 12, and in English Tuesday, August 26.

Could you help us find focus persons?

The exam is conducted on Teams, with the coach/candidate, the leader/focus person, and two examiners present. The session lasts approximately 55 minutes, with 40 minutes dedicated to coaching. The conversation is recorded and deleted within a week. All discussions during the session are confidential.

This is an opportunity to receive a free coaching session from a fully trained and dedicated coach. Participants also gain insight into coaching and contribute to another person’s professional development.

If you know of one or more candidates, please spread the word—we look forward to hearing from you!

Here are details on the process and our requirements:

LEARN Coaching is a Coaching School that provides coach training as company-internal programs and as open training courses. We offer a holistic approach to coach training and leadership development. Our curriculum covers the complete journey from untrained to certified coach. Our training organization have been accredited by International Coaching Federation (ICF) to assess Certification Exams for our students both at the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Professional Certified Coach (PCC) level. We are proud to be part of providing society with highly skilled coaches, and to help uphold the gold standard in coaching that ICF represents.

We regularly need clients to be coached by our students in an exam setting, all exams are held on virtual platforms (Teams/Zoom/ Google Meet). For our exams we prefer to have clients who are not trained coaches. We acknowledge that anyone who have undergone coach training can be an “easier” client/ potentially will self-coach and thus not give the student the chance to fully show their ability as a coach.

We have partnered with some companies that provide us with clients for our exams and are now looking to expand to a few more companies to have access to a diverse pool of clients. If you choose to partner with us for this, you will have access to some free coaching sessions while you also help develop future coaches.

The process of our exam is as follows:

  • 4-6 weeks before an Exam we reach out to our partner companies and offer up the slots. We offer an informative text about what can be expected to share with potential clients.

  • The slots are booked at a first come first serve basis – let us know as soon as you have a candidate for a given slot. You send us the name and email of the client, and we will administer an invite and further information to the client. We understand that some times things will get in the way – and hope that you can help us find a replacement if sickness occurs or have a backup client.

  • The week before the Exam we will have a short call with the client to help prepare them.

  • On the actual exam the client, our candidate, one of our faculty and an examiner meet virtually. After a short 5 min introduction of everyone on the call, the examiner and our member of faculty close their cameras so that only the client and the candidate are visible. The coach will invite the client to share his topic and then coach for approximately 40 min. The session will be recorded for assessment purposes. After 40 min we come back on with camera, ask if the client wants to share something about her/his experience (this is voluntarily), before we say thank you and dismiss the client. The recording will be saved for maximum 7 days and not played to anyone other than the member of faculty and examiner, and potentially the coach – whom all hold confidentiality.

The ideal client is:

  • Someone who is not a trained coach/has not undergone coach training.

  • Someone who would like to be coached.

  • Speaks Norwegian/ Swedish/ English fluently.

  • Has a challenge/topic they want to work with in the coaching. This must be real for the client (not made up), and current (not something they have already solved), and something they are willing to share and explore in the coaching.

  • For PCC exams: a person in a leadership position.

Examples of topics (just for inspiration, it does not need to be any of these):

  • A change they want to implement but have so far not succeeded with.

  • A relationship they want to improve.

  • A situation that feels unfair or overwhelming and that they want to find a better way to engage with.

  • A stakeholder engagement challenge/someone they would like to influence.

  • A tough/challenging conversation they would like to prepare for.

We would love it if you will partner with LEARN Coaching and provide us with clients for our Exams.

Make the most of this chance to work with a fully trained and highly motivated coach for free!

Send an e-mail to info@learncoaching.org if you are interested.
